Square D General Purpose Relay 8-Pin Wiring Diagram

Replacing a Square D (Schneider) 8430MPS or 8430MPD Phase Monitor Relay

Issue:

Schneider Galvanizing (Square D) has obsoleted their complete line of 8430 MPS plug-in &adenosine monophosphate; MPD surface-mount phase proctor relays. I see Macromatic has several products I could use to supersede the Square D products. Are there any special issues to address?

The next are the steps required to replace an obsolete Square D intersection with one and only from Macromatic:

8430MPS Series Add-i

Thither were two voltage versions of 8430MPS products offered. The dispute in replacing them is the difference in their mounting configurations:

Macromatic has two products that give the sack represent misused to replace the disused Square D 8430MPS wa-in relay race: the PMPU & PMPU-FA8.

Both tender phase angle loss, phase reversal, adjustable undervoltage & voltage unbalance protection like the System of macrophage products. Nonetheless, they too propose overvoltage protection unlike the MPS units. The PMPU has more drug user-adjustments vs. fixed settings on the PMPU-FA8. Some can replace either the 240V & 480V versions of the Square D unit because they operate any voltage from 190-500V (clack here for additional information on the PMPU & PMPU-FA8 units):

To replace the 8430MPSV24 240V whole:

  1. Take away the Square D 8430MPSV24 from the socket.
  2. Rewire the socket per the diagram at properly or unofficially of the Macromatic unit.
  3. Plug in the Macromatic PMPU or PMPU-FA8 product.
  4. Place the PMPU or PMPU-FA8 to operate at 240V nominal line potential dro. For additional set-up instructions, click here.
  5. NOTE: both the PMPU & PMPU-FA8 come with optional manual reset option connected Pins 6 & 7, which is not obtainable with the MPS. Bu disregard these deuce Pins.

To replace the 8430MPSV29 480V unit:

  1. Because the 8430MPSV29 unit uses an 11 pin blade socket & the Macromatic products use an positional representation system socket, you must first install a new 8 pivot octal socket.
  2. Hit the 8430MPSV29 & set all the wires currently connected to the 11 pin steel socket.
  3. Move out the cold socket & replace IT with a 600V 8 pin octal socket, such as the Macromatic 70169-D (information technology must be a 600V-rated positional notation socket to follow secondhand on a 480V nominal voltage).
  4. Reconnect the wires per the 8 trap octal socket drawing at right or unofficially of the Macromatic unit.
  5. Plug-in the Macromatic PMPU or PMPU-FA8 product.
  6. Set the PMPU Oregon PMPU-FA8 to operate at 480V tokenish line voltage. For extra set-up instructions, click here.
  7. NOTE: both the PMPU & PMPU-FA8 come with optional manual of arms reset option along Pins 6 & 7, which is not usable with the MPS. Plainly disregard these two Pins.

8430MPD Serial Surface-Climb on

There were three voltage versions of 8430MPS products offered:

The Macromatic PMDU product can replace some the 240V &A; 480V versions of the Square D whole because it operates happening any electric potential from190-500V.

The PMD575 can supersede the 8430MPDV32 (click here for extra entropy on the PMDU &ere; PMD575 units).

NOTE: The Square D 8430MPD unit has 600V DPDT output contacts while the Macromatic PMDU & PMD575 have 300V DPDT outturn contacts. Contact Macromatic for extra details.

To replace either the 8430MPDV24 240V or 8430MPDV29 480V unit of measurement:

  1. Mark all the wires currently connected to the Square D unit.
  2. Off the Square D unit & replace with the Macromatic PMDU relay.
  3. Reconnect the wires per the wiring diagram below operating theatre unofficially of the Macromatic unit.
  4. Set the PMDU to go at 240V nominal subscriber line voltage if replacing the 8430MPDV24 or 480V nominal line voltage if replacement the 8430MPDV29. For additional hardening-up instructions, click here.
  5. Mention: the PMDU comes with optional manual readjust option on Terminals M1 &A; M2, which is not available with the MPD. Simply disregard these two Terminals.

To replace the 8430MPDV32 600V unit:

  1. Mark every the wires presently siamese to the Paid D unit.
  2. Take the Square D unit &adenylic acid; replace with the Macromatic PMD575.
  3. Reconnect the wires per the wiring diagram below surgery on the position of the building block.

  5. NOTE: the PMD600 comes with optional manual reset option on Terminals M1 & M2, which is non ready with the MPD. Only disregard these two Terminals.
